Abstract

This exhibition was organized by NAFAS North West, is an Regional Event of Floral Art. I entered three classes of exhibition and competitions. LIFE’S DELIGHTS – combining several traditional Chinese vegetable, goodies and flowers cultural celebrative elements used into floral exhibit. Crysanthemum signified longeivity, lucky banboo signified lucky and futune; and gladiolus signified promotion. RIDDLES – combining traditional Chinese cultural elements and flowers into floral arranged exhibit. Lotus pod signified lots of children and grand children; pine and pine cones signified longeivity; lingzhi signified good health; and pussy willow signified rich. Peony signified prosperity. RUYI – combining traditional Chinese cultural elements and jewellery making technique to create a floral necklace exhibit. The shape of the necklace is the shape of RUYI signified everything as wishes. Gold signified prosperity and rich, so do sparkling diamonds. Orchids signified nobelness in traditional Chinese cultural elements.
