Abstract

This chapter brings together three pivotal case studies relating to honour-based abuse and stalking, and explores them in relation to the web model of domestic violence and abuse (hereafter ‘DVA’). Given that no two cases are the same, there is an acute need to further enhance the understanding of HBA to develop better informed preventative and supportive interventions. The web model of DVA was developed specifically with research conducted within UK Muslim communities. It aimed to increase the understanding of domestic abuse at an academic and practitioner level, in direct response to the current lack of representation. Within an HBA and stalking context the applicability of the nuances within the model becomes pertinent, with the victim placed centrally to give precedence to their lived experience. The web model of DVA is applied to the case studies, exploring how it can enable increased understanding of the nuances within HBA-related cases.
