    Abstract

    This paper presents a surface impedance (Z_surf) of a cross-slotted anisotropic hexagonal unit-cell characterized by analyzing the effects of rotation factor (θ) and effective slot length (d). A closed-form empirical relation has been determined to characterize the Z_surf based on the rotation factor (θ) and effective slot length (d). A multibeam impedance-modulated surface has been proposed for a cross-slotted unit-cell. The beam patterns gains range from 2.5 dBi to 6.5 dBi. The presented holographic metasurface design holds a great promise for long-range/wide coverage energy-/spectrum-efficient satellite-cellular 5G/6G convergence network communications.
