    Abstract

Curating Knowledge aims to generate a discursive platform that highlights the links between research activity and contemporary arts practices, and – perhaps most importantly – that takes account of the different kinds of relationships that the public can have with them. As curator/practitioners also working within the frame of PaR it becomes central to reflect on one’s own relationship to these exposures. The initial residencies were selected to consider how the transferral of the dialogic process to the viewer or audience might come about, and to reflect on the shifting levels of engagement. Each of the extended essays featured on this site includes an account of a direct encounter with this work in order to suggest the rich complexity and potential for dialogue in a creative process. The aim of the Curating Knowledge project, as part of the expanded Axis Arts Centre provision, is to continue as a critical project facilitating a fluid and explorative ‘curatorial platform’ for the contemporary work that it features.
