    Abstract

This analysis article explores the prevalence of depression comorbid with physical illness, and issues in recognition of depression, and the implications for health professionals' practice. A synthesis of this nature was necessary because, while comorbidity of depression in specific conditions has been explored in clinically specific literature, a broader view was felt to be a useful addition to the allied health literature.
