    Abstract

This book reports the findings of the final of four commissioned research projects for the Low Pay Commission. It contributes to the Commission's remit to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the National Minimum Wage and provided valuable evidence to inform their third report. This project for the Low Pay Commission explores the impact of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) on the employment practices and policies of young workers within the hospitality sector collected by survey (N=29) and interviews (N=7) of employers in this industry. It specifically draws comparisons between rural and urban firms in order to ascertain if there has been a degree of differences in the regional implication of the NMW.
