Abstract
This document is a Place Quality Audit of Asby-de-la-Zouch high street, conducted independently by the Institute of Place Management (IPM). It uses a framework of 25 priorities for high street vitality and viability developed through research1 at Manchester Metropolitan University, evaluating the high street's look and feel, functionality, offer, need for change, and management. The audit combines desk-based research, a use class survey, and a site visit to assess Ashby-de-la-Zouch against these priorities, providing ratings and preliminary recommendations for improvement. Findings are summarised using a Red–Amber–Green (RAG) rating system: Red indicates critical issues that significantly undermine high street performance and demand immediate action. Amber highlights areas requiring targeted improvement. Green reflects good practices that should be protected and sustained.
