Abstract
The MetroPolis Magazine has officially launched, showcasing the latest in policy-relevant thinking from Manchester Met researchers. Released in both print and online formats in April 2025, the publication builds on the foundations of our previous magazine and brings the stories, challenges, and solutions of policy to life. This edition features a range of policy briefs that explore real-world challenges and propose innovative solutions. Highlights include Bringing Circular Models to UK Fashion, which examines how sustainability can be embedded into the fashion industry; Listening to the ‘Voices of the Future’, a powerful piece that captures the perspectives of young people and the environment; and Saving the Prison System from Collapse, offering vital insights from a youth custody evaluation on how to reform and strengthen the justice system. In addition to the policy briefs, the magazine features a series of in-depth articles, such as a Chancellor’s Fellows Q&A, which delves into the experiences and ambitions of Manchester Met’s new academic leaders, and a MetroPolis Blog Spotlight – A Just Transition, which explores the critical need for fair and inclusive environmental policies in the move towards net zero.
