    Abstract

Multi-band antenna has the unique feature of capturing Radio Frequency (RF) energy simultaneously from different sources there by increasing the total harvested energy. In this article, we propose a multi-band omnidirectional antenna based on planar dipole architecture for the RF energy harvesting for IoT applications. The antenna has been designed using RT-5880 substrate with a thickness of 1.575 mm. The antenna has a peak gain of 4.5 dBi at 5.5 GHz and shows good omnidirectional patterns for four bands (1.83, 2.45, 3.46 and 5.5 GHz) in simulations. The antenna is designed scavenge energy from GSM-1800, Wi-Fi 2450, 5G-3500 and Wi-Fi 5500 MHz ambient/dedicated sources for low power IoT systems.
