Abstract

Malandrino explore micro tensions within storytelling - forms of suspense driven by ommission and synechdoche. Thematically, I'm interested in juxtaposing two men in states of crisis, meeting in domestic/parenting context. I'm interested in the idea of the short story as a 'mechanism for generating interpretation', so I've tried to present a piece of writing that's high on tension but low on resolution, to open up discussion on masculinity, loneliness, apprearance and reality, self-expression, digital culture.
