Abstract
The theme of the conference was “Library Supporting Studying: Spaces and Collaboration”. My presentation focused on Manchester Met Library’s ethos and approach to developing a 24 hour library service. Detailing the practical and political elements of delivering a 24 hour service; including key considerations, issues to overcome and benefits. My presentation also covered the vital role of RFID self-service and complimentary customer services, such as our virtual helpdesk.
