    Abstract

The editorial introduction to a special issue on needlework in English literature and visual arts, this article considers the textile turn in literary and cultural studies. Tracing key themes of gender roles and feminity, and the move from textualities to textility, it outlines the key patterns which emerge in the collection of articles.
