    A generic non-linear numerical model for simulating complex fluid flows around wave energy devices has been developed. The underlying scheme is based on the solution of the incompressible Euler equations for a variable density fluid system for automatically capturing the interface between water and air and the Cartesian cut cell method for tracking moving solid boundaries including wave power devices on a background stationary Cartesian grid. Initial results indicate that the method is promising and can be used to model a wide range of wave energy devices. Copyright © 2004 by The International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers
